2-family conversion
Our first historic rehab project. Built in 1909 this was originally a 2-family duplex on a great tree-lined South City street. The second floor was updated to include 3 bedrooms, an office, laundry, and a large master suite with a freestanding tub.
Some of the updates involved: Replacing the systems throughout, opening the kitchen to the dining room and connecting (and retaining) the hardwood floors, seamlessly connecting the first floor to the second floor, second-floor laundry, and adding a master-suite.We obtained this 4-family in Shaw that needed a lot of work, as one side of the building was showing signs that a larger portion of the roof was falling in. It needed so much work that it was an open canvas to historic renovation possibilities. Because the units were spacious, it made sense to convert these into 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhomes. Added bonus of having a large 4-car brick garage in back that was already separated into two.
